India levels series 1-1

posted by Monkey

Yaaahooo! Indians have won after a below average batting performance in Second innings. Seniors let down the side again, and it was Sehwag who made a terrific comeback after his poor run in test series at south africa, lifted the team’s score. Speaking of bowling, the pitch favored the bowlers majorly and Zaheer khan started the proceedings very well. It was Ishant sharma who then took the cue and started removing the top order fast. From then on, it was Harbhajan, harbhajan all the way.

After the outcome of the match, it was clearly an understatement that the pitch favored the spinners very well. Mendis and Bhajji took 10 wickets in the match with Harbhajan conceding lesser runs.

Well, Indians won the match and that was all required.

Bright start - Wasted

posted by Monkey

Indians are known for clutching defeat from the jaws of victory. It is just the case now. With a sorry performance from the senior players, Indians puffed and puckered to a sorry score of 329, with sehwag on 201 not out. That means, the rest of the team managed to contribute only 128 runs! Gambhir obviously taking up a lion’s share of 56 runs. Sachin, Saurav and Dravid have to move on I guess.

Consistency is the element in the game. If you don’t have what it takes, why do you even step on the turf?

Bright start!

posted by Monkey

Well, just now I saw the score in CC lab and Indians are well settled with the opening pair giving us a solid start. Sehwag is in belligerent form, firing on all cylinders. Once again he reaches his century at a fast pace. It doesn’t matter whether sehwag doesn’t understand the difference between a Test match and an ODI or whether test match is a test of character and all the bullshit. All that matters are ‘Runs on the board’ and it is coming in good numbers now. Keep the momentum up guys!

India take on Srilanka tomorrow

posted by Monkey

The second test of the series is going start tomorrow and like any other indian fan, I hope that they don’t fall for the spinners like they did in the first test. (19 wickets taken by spinners!). India is known for playing well against spin. But last test match proved the statement otherwise. So lets put our hands up for the indian team and wish them the very best for a good match. This time around, lets hope that they put up a fighting total on the board or do well in the bowling department.

IPL 9th Match

posted by Monkey

The match was between the Deccan Chargers(home) and Rajhastan Royals. Shane Warne, captain-coach of Rajhastan Royals won the toss and elected to field first. To his shock runs started flowing in Deccans favour in the first 2 overs. In the third over Yousf Pathan was introduced to take off the pace of the ball and he did the same and claimed 2 wickets(Good move warnie!!). Then came Symonds who was at his stroking best. He made a brilliant 117 assisted well by Rohit Sharma (36) to set up an exiciting target of 215. Smith and Pathan did most of the scoring for Rajhastan Royals. The scored 71 and 68 respectively at a good pace. Then came the fall of wickets. RP Singh bowled an brilliant 19th over to make the visiting side score 17 runs of the last over. Laxman handed over the ball to his batting hero Symonds. Pankaj Sigh took a double of the first ball and a single of the second to give strike to Warnie. Next ball was a full toss that Warne hit straight down the ground for a four. Now the equation was 10 runs of 3 balls. Next ball Symonds saw Warne advance down the pitch and bowled a shorter one and bang the ball was out for a six in the mid wicket region. 4 to win of 2 balls. Again Warne advanced down the pitch and hit the ball for a 6 over extra cover to hit the winning runs. Is this called a captains knock??? The batting hero turned into a Villan for the home side. Yousuf Pathan was declared as the man of the match for his quick fire 68 and 2 wickets he claimed.
